Cover Reveal: Willows vs. Wolverines by Alison Cherry

As regular readers of the blog will no doubt be aware, we at Pop! Goes The Reader are big fans of both Alison Cherry and her numerous works, both middle grade and young adult-focused. Today, I have the immense pleasure of welcoming Alison to the blog once again as I help to host the exclusive cover reveal for her forthcoming middle grade novel, Willows vs. Wolverines! Scheduled to be published in 2017 by Aladdin, Willows vs. Wolverines tells the story of one truly special summer full of hijinks and hilarity as a prank war ensues between a boys’ cabin and a girls’ cabin at Camp Foxtail, a sleepaway camp. Alison’s newest book cover is every bit as vibrant, cute and colourful as her last and was illustrated by the phenomenally talented Angela Li, who was also responsible for the illustrations on the cover of Alison’s previous middle grade title, The Classy Crooks Club. You can learn more about Angela and her artistic process in an interview I was fortunate enough to hold with her here. For now, please read on to learn a little more about Alison and this absolutely adorable middle grade novel – If it’s even half as loveable and heartwarming as her last, we’re definitely in for a treat!

It’s girls vs. boys in this hilarious summer camp novel from the author of The Classy Crooks Club.

Izzy Cervantes and her best friend, Mackenzie, have spent summers together at Camp Sweetwater since they were eight. So when their parents decide to ship them off to Camp Foxtail instead, the girls find themselves completely out of their element — and worse yet, in different cabins!

Izzy feels like an outsider in Willow Lodge. But when she hears about the time-honored prank war between the Willows and the Wolverines, the rival boy cabin, she sees a chance to make her mark. Convinced the girls will never accept her as one of them unless she has roots at Camp Foxtail, she boasts that her older brother is the most respected prankster in the camp’s history and would be happy to help them win the war. In reality, Izzy doesn’t even have an older brother, but the Willows embrace her as their new secret weapon, and Mackenzie agrees to help her hatch a series of epic stunts.

As the hijinks escalate, so does Izzy’s popularity. But she becomes so focused on impressing her new friends that she starts neglecting Mackenzie, putting her friendship and her secret prank-master identity in serious jeopardy.

Can Izzy keep the truth under wraps and win her best friend back, or will she end up on the wrong side of her allies as well as her enemies?
