The Literary Shopaholic is a sporadic feature on Pop! Goes The Reader in which I highlight some of my favourite literary-themed items. From bookmarks to bookends, purses to prints and everything in between, I’ve selected a few things that will be at the very top of my shopping list this season!
In the immortal words of C.S. Lewis: “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me”. While every bibliophile has their own reading ritual that’s unique to them, most will tell you that there’s nothing like a warm, comforting cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate to act as the perfect companion when it comes time for one to settle down with their next novel. From Divergent to Mary Poppins, The Book Thief to Harry Potter, today I’ve compiled a list of forty-two totally tea-rrific literary mugs that will have you sipping your next drink in style.

These are sooooo lovely! I love the Wand Chooses the Wizard, Mary Poppins, Platform 9 3/4, Winnie the Pooh, and P&P! I have so many mugs at home that I’m running out of room but I definitely need some of these 🙂

What I love is you think I’m joking when I say I’m using this for your Christmas present.

Oh my GOODNESS. This is like Christmas for me – I mostly collect tea cups, but I love a good mug, and I especially love a good mug with a bit of fangirl thrown in. I only have two book-themed ones (a Jane Austen and one with a slew of author portraits) so clearly I need to enhance my collection? I especially love the Tolkien quote and the “Elementary”. (I see myself in a scarf and deerstalker cap with that mug, sitting in the daunting eternity that is between-season Sherlock limbo.) Thanks so much for putting this list together!
P.S. Hi, friend! I don’t get to be around nearly as often as I’d like anymore, but I do following along on your always-gorgeous posts. Hope you’re doing well and enjoying the autumn! xx
These are so excellent. I’ll have to have the boyfriend hide my pocketbook this weekend, because that X-files inspired mug– “I Want to Read”– is too tempting!

I’m gonna go broke through these posts! Haha. I find so many things to add to my wishlists. And confession: I LOVE mugs, even though I don’t ever use them.. A huge YAS to all the Harry Potter ones. I especially love the “wand chooses the wizard” one. And oh my gosh, I love so many of the other bookish ones, especially the Poe and Book Thief ones.
