Top Fourteen Book Covers That Evoke The Feeling Of Summer

Top Ten Tuesday is a regular feature on Pop! Goes The Reader in which I count down my top ten choices on a particular theme. This weekly event is hosted by Jamie at The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Top Fourteen Book Covers That Evoke The Feeling Of Summer.

As regular readers of Pop! Goes The Reader are by now no doubt aware, there are few things I love talking about more than book covers. So, when I saw that this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic was a Summer-related prompt open to a participant’s interpretation, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to once again explore about one of my very favourite topics. A book’s cover can play an important role in a book’s initial success or failure. A cover offers prospective readers one of the earliest impressions of the story held within its pages and, when executed well, can perfectly capture the setting, mood and direction of the novel in question. Today, I’ll be sharing a list of fourteen book covers I feel perfectly evoke the spirit of Summer.

As always, these choices are listed in no particular order.

01. Willows vs. Wolverines by Alison Cherry
02. Even in Paradise by Chelsey Philpot

03. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
04. The Summer Of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler

05. Moonglass by Jessi Kirby
06. That Summer by Sarah Dessen

07. This One Summer by Mariko Tamaki and Jillian Tamaki
08. Mystic Summer by Hannah McKinnon

09. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
10. The Forget-Me-Not Summer by Leila Howland

11. A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams
12. Summerlost by Ally Condie

13. Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
14. Summer Days and Summer Nights by Stephanie Perkins, etc.

Now it’s YOUR turn! Which book covers remind you most of Summer? Did I list one of your favourites here or is there one I forgot that just has to be included? Let me know in the comments – I would love to hear from you!

  1. Nice list! I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned, but Moonglass looks interesting! Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. Your aesthetics are always spot-on, Jen. I think any Sarah Dessen could be on this list! Love & Gelato is also quite summery, to me, but in an abstract way.

  3. I haven’t heard of a lot of these but they all look so beautiful! They all make me really want to go sit on a beach.

Nicholas Sparks covers are nearly always quite summery. Those are quite nice, especially when you get a few in the same edition. ^.^

Hi! I’m Jen! I’m a thirty-something introvert who loves nothing more than the cozy comfort of home and snuggling my two rescue cats, Pepper and Pancakes. I also enjoy running, jigsaw puzzles, baking and everything Disney. Few things bring me more joy than helping a reader find the right book for them!
