Top Twelve 2014 Releases I’m Dying To Read

“Top Ten Tuesday” is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is the Top Twelve 2014 Releases I’m Dying To Read.

I consider this post a monumental accomplishment. Why’s that, you ask? With so many wonderful releases slated for 2014, I was hard pressed to limit this week’s selection to twenty, let alone twelve! As difficult as this week’s post was to compile, I love that, however inadvertently, the list of the books I’m ultimately most excited about reading in 2014 ended up being a fascinating combination of both novels by debut authors and novels by authors I love and trust and whose work I’m already familiar with. Some of my favourite authors of all, like Morgan Matson, Laurie Halse Anderson and Rainbow Rowell have new standalone novels set to become published in the new year. I’m also extremely excited to read The Fourth Wish by Lindsay Ribar, which is the second instalment in Ribar’s wonderful and imaginative The Art of Wishing duology (You can read my review of the first novel of the series Here!) That’s not to mention all the wonderful new additions to the contemporary genre like Love Letters To The Dead, Say What You Will or The Museum of Intangible Things or those stories that will force me outside of my usual comfort zone like Dear Killer or The Murder Complex! With so many promising releases in 2014, the only problem I now face is finding time to read them all!

Before I continue, I would also like to mention a novel I had every intention of including on today’s Top Ten Tuesday list, but because it’s currently without a cover, I was sadly unable to – Not In The Script by Amy Finnegan! As a self-professed television and film addict, I can’t help but wonder whether Amy wrote this novel specifically for me, as it sounds eerily tailored to include everything I ordinarily enjoy in a novel. September 2014 cannot get here soon enough!

As always, these choices are listed in no particular order.

1) House of Ivy and Sorrow by Natalie Whipple

2) Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

3) Alienated by Melissa Landers

4) Cress by Marissa Meyer

5) Love Letters To The Dead by Ava Dellaira

6) The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson

7) Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern

8) Landline by Rainbow Rowell

9) Dear Killer by Katherine Ewell

10) The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings

11) The Museum of Intangible Things by Wendy Wunder

12) The Fourth Wish by Lindsay Ribar

  1. As always, a fabulous list, with a ton of titles we agree on. I was lucky enough to read an early copy of Cress and I have to tell you, it’s my favorite in the series by a long shot – both the book itself and the character. I am so very excited for all the amazing Harper Teen titles next year, ESPECIALLY Dear Killer. I’ve been waiting for it for SO long! I’ve never heard of Since You’ve Been Gone before but now it’s definitely on my TBR. Going through all these TTT is NOT helping me get my to-read pile under control, that’s for sure.

  2. I really loved Dear Killer–I hope you do too! I agree with Cress–I’m absolutely dying for that one. Every time I see it I just want to reach through the screen and grab it. Love Letters to the Dead is on my TTT as well, and Landline! I loved both Eleanor & Park and Fangirl, so I hope to read Attachments soon and then look forward to Landline. I absolutely love the cover and I’m sure the contents won’t disappoint either!

  3. Oh I won’t most of these, definitely! Especially Cress and Alienated. There are a few, especially The Museum of Intangible Things, that look interesting to me that I might check out. šŸ˜›
