The creative writing teacher, the delivery guy, the local Starbucks baristas, his best friend, her roommate, and the squirrel in the park all have one thing in common — They believe that Gabe and Lea should get together. Lea and Gabe are in the same creative writing class. They get the same pop culture references, order the same Chinese food, and hang out in the same places. Unfortunately, Lea is reserved, Gabe has issues, and despite their initial mutual crush, it looks like they are never going to work things out. But somehow even when nothing is going on, something is happening between them, and everyone can see it. Their creative writing teacher pushes them together. The baristas at Starbucks watch their relationship like a TV show. Their bus driver tells his wife about them. The waitress at the diner automatically seats them together. Even the squirrel who lives on the college green believes in their relationship.
Surely Gabe and Lea will figure out that they are ment to be together…
There’s nothing I adore more than a love story. Because let’s be honest: Everything is better with kissing. More kissing, I say! So, when I first heard about Sandy Hall’s upcoming debut, A Little Something Different, I was more than a little excited. Even better? The concept sounds just as promising as the title suggests. From what I understand, this love story is told from the perspective of everyone but our intended couple, Gabe and Lea, an approach that I find as intriguing as I do creative. It isn’t easy to breathe new life into the now-familiar story of Boy Meets Girl and to reinvent archetypes that have become as familiar to me as Idris Elba’s face. (His beautiful, beautiful face) *Cough* Anyway… While I wasn’t lucky enough to receive an ARC of this novel, thankfully I won’t have very long to wait to purchase my own copy! Set to be published on August 26, 2014 A Little Something Different sounds like the perfect way to heat up the summer, once last time.

I think this sounds adorable, cute, and interesting. (There’s a squirrel’s POV!) But I love the cover, and based on the synopsis, this may be a fantastic read!

Oh what a pretty little cover. I haven’t heard of this one and while I rarely read contemporary the whole idea of the story being told from different POVs, but not from the couple’s POV seems really good. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I’m SO torn with this one. From the moment I first heard about it I thought it sounded insanely cute and totally my kind of love story, plus I have a good streak with Macmillan novels. I just wish the characters had different names! Lea is so close to my name and my sister’s boyfriend is named Gabe, and that’s just way too awkward for me! 🙁

So excited for this one as well. The cuteness and romance is just oozing out of it 🙂

This is one of the books I hope to read this summer. It sounds adorable, and judging from the reviews so far, the multiple points of view seems to be working well for most people. I do like when authors take new approaches to old ideas. Great pick, Jen! 🙂

I’m a little apprehensive about the numerous POVs, but I think the story will be worth it at the end. Besides, who can resist that cover? Great pick!

The cover is gorgeous and I love how whimsical it is. It gives me a very Anthropologie/ModCloth vibe, too…
The story seems super cute and I love how we’re able to see the story unfold over multiple POVs. Too cute!
