For as long as she can remember, Wren Gray’s goal has been to please her parents. But as high school graduation nears, so does an uncomfortable realization: Pleasing her parents once overlapped with pleasing herself, but now…not so much. Wren needs to honor her own desires, but how can she if she doesn’t even know what they are?

Charlie Parker, on the other hand, is painfully aware of his heart’s desire. A gentle boy with a troubled past, Charlie has loved Wren since the day he first saw her. But a girl like Wren would never fall for a guy like Charlie – at least not the sort of guy Charlie believes himself to be.

And yet certain things are written in the stars. And in the summer after high school, Wren and Charlie’s souls will collide. But souls are complicated, as are the bodies that house them…

What’s not to love? Aside from the absolutely stunning book cover and fantastic use of typography, there are few things I enjoy more than a pure, simple contemporary young adult story. Based on the premise I feel as though I’ll be able to relate intimately to Wren’s struggles. I think it will be gratifying to watch as Wren attempts to re-define herself outside of her parent’s expectations and embrace what she’s truly passionate about for the first time. And, as a big romance lover, I can’t wait to find out how Wren and Charlie’s relationship evolves over the course of a single summer.

  1. This is on my TBR list already. The cover, as you said is beautiful and I’ve noticed a lot of YA + NA Novels not really considering the typography or infact are using typography that just doesn’t work. So it is great to see for once typography that works and so beautifully.
Definitely looking forward to getting my head stuck in this book 😀

Hi! I’m Jen! I’m a thirty-something introvert who loves nothing more than the cozy comfort of home and snuggling my two rescue cats, Pepper and Pancakes. I also enjoy running, jigsaw puzzles, baking and everything Disney. Few things bring me more joy than helping a reader find the right book for them!
