Hello. It’s me.

Hi everyone! Long time no see!

Over the course of the last week I’ve received a number of concerned comments, tweets and emails from readers about Pop! Goes The Reader’s recent inactivity. While I announced the blog’s January hiatus on Twitter, I felt it was important to also offer a short explanation here as well for those who may not follow me on social media.

The simple truth is: I need a break. I think the fact that it took me more than a week to write this one post is a shameful testament to that fact. I adore ‘Tis The Season: Authors Talk Holidays and can’t wait to do it all again next December, but I’ll be the first to admit that the event takes a great deal out of me. I spent countless hours organizing, coordinating, coding and scheduling both the event and the individual posts, even on Christmas day. As much as I wanted to hit the ground running with new content on January 1st, I had nothing left to give.

As much as I’m looking forward to some much-needed time to refill the creative well, another reason I’ve placed Pop! Goes The Reader on a short hiatus is because I’ll be hard at work behind the scenes catching up on my January ARCs, writing reviews, and creating all new content and features that I can’t wait to share with you upon my return. I’ve also partnered with the wondrously talented illustrator Vicki Tsai and designer Hazel @ Stay Bookish to help give Pop! Goes The Reader a fresh new look in 2016, something I’ve long wanted and will finally be making a reality this year.

2015 was a difficult year for me and I don’t know where I or Pop! Goes The Reader would be without those who stood up for me and stood by me when I needed it most. This blog is nothing without its readers and I can’t begin to express the depth of gratitude I feel for your continued kindness and support. The new year holds within it an endless number of possibilities – to learn, to change, to grow, to create, to experiment – and I can’t wait to do all that and more with you by my side. Thank you.

I’ll see you all in February!

Hi! I’m Jen! I’m a thirty-something introvert who loves nothing more than the cozy comfort of home and snuggling my two rescue cats, Pepper and Pancakes. I also enjoy running, jigsaw puzzles, baking and everything Disney. Few things bring me more joy than helping a reader find the right book for them!
