Pop! Goes The Reader is currently accepting requests for book reviews at this time!
Before you contact me regarding a prospective review, please take a moment and read the following information before continuing.
Pop! Goes The Reader is a book review blog that focuses predominantly on Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction. My primary areas of interest are the Contemporary and Historical Fiction genres, although I am also willing to accept other genres outside of these dependant upon my level of interest in the specific book in question. I am also willing to review the occasional adult novel, particularly historical romance and literary fiction. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis. I will not review self-published work.
I will always try my best to provide an honest and balanced review of whatever work I am examining. As much as it pains me to write a negative review, I will do so if I feel it is necessary and the work in question warrants it. In cases such as these, I will do my best to explicitly state what problems I had with the particular work. My good opinion cannot be purchased or influenced in any way as I think that would do a disservice both to my readers as well as to myself. I am not willing to compromise my integrity in order to provide a work with a positive review.
All full-length reviews will contain select quotes chosen by me from the work I am reviewing. I find that quotations and/or excerpts are often one of the best ways to gauge whether or not a book is right for a prospective reader. I will never intentionally include a quotation that spoils either a major plot or character development. Rather, I choose quotes that I think best display a novel’s tone and style. I would suggest familiarizing yourself with my typical review format beforehand to ensure that it is right for you.
Review Availability, Cross-Posting and Promotion
All reviews will be posted on Pop! Goes The Reader, as well as cross-posted on Goodreads and Amazon.com. They will also be promoted on Twitter.
I’m willing to review books in either a print or eBook format. I own a Kindle and will accept eBooks in either an .epub, .mobi or .PDF format.
When Submitting A Book For Review
When contacting me regarding a prospective book for review, please provide the following information:
» Title and Author
» Publication Date
» A brief explanation as to why your book would be a good fit for Pop! Goes The Reader and/or be of interest to me.
This information will provide me with a basic understanding of the work in question and allow me to gauge whether or not it would be a good fit for Pop! Goes The Reader and its readers.
If you would like your book reviewed within a certain time period (i.e. Within a week or two of the book’s release), please specify this in your correspondence. I will do my best to accommodate such requests, although I cannot absolutely guarantee that this will be possible.
Receipt of a book does not guarantee a review, particularly if it is an unsolicited manuscript that I did not actively request.
Still interested in having your book featured on Pop! Goes The Reader? Great! Please email me at [email protected]
Pop! Goes The Reader is also happy to conduct author interviews, participate in blog tours and other related promotional events. As with the accepted genres, this will be decided on a case-by-case basic dependent upon the suitability of the event in question for Pop! Goes The Reader.
