Hi everyone! Today on Pop! Goes The Reader I’m super excited to have partnered with Disney Book Group to host a giveaway for one of my most-anticipated 2019 releases, 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston! Elston’s latest novel has been compared to the work of Jenny Han and Morgan Matson, and is not only a romp-filled romantic comedy, which I adore, but is also set during my favourite holiday and time of the year! Heck, I love it so much I even dedicate the entire month of December on Pop! Goes The Reader to a celebration of all the winter holidays in ‘Tis The Season: Authors Talk Holidays!
There’s nothing I don’t look forward to and love about Christmas, including the movies, the music, the food, and especially the thirty years of memories I’ve been fortunate enough to make with those I love. Because Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October, I ordinarily begin to get into the Christmas spirit in November, and one of my favourite ways to do so is with a book (or a dozen) set during the holiday season. That said, there aren’t many young adult novels that take place during this time of year that I haven’t already read, so I’m always excited when new ones are published and 10 Blind Dates is no exception! Set over the Christmas break and culminating in a kiss on New Year’s Eve, 10 Blind Dates promises to be the perfect companion to a warm cup of cocoa this winter. I’m so thrilled and thankful to have partnered with Disney Book Group and been given the opportunity to share a copy of this book with one of my readers!
Go on your very own literary “blind date”! One (1) winner receives:

One broken heart, ten blind dates — and a whole lot of confusion!
Sophie wants one thing for Christmas — a little freedom from her overprotective parents. So when they decide to spend Christmas in South Louisiana with her very pregnant older sister, Sophie is looking forward to some much needed private (read: make-out) time with her long-term boyfriend, Griffin. Except it turns out that Griffin wants a little freedom from their relationship.
Heartbroken, Sophie flees to her grandparents’ house, where the rest of her boisterous extended family is gathered for the holiday. That’s when her nonna devises a (not so) brilliant plan: Over the next ten days, Sophie will be set up on ten different blind dates by different family members. Like her sweet cousin Sara, who sets her up with a hot guy at an exclusive underground party. Or her crazy aunt Patrice, who signs Sophie up for a lead role in a living nativity. With a boy who barely reaches her shoulder. And a screaming baby.
When Griffin turns up unexpectedly and begs for a second chance, Sophie feels more confused than ever. Because maybe, just maybe, she’s started to have feelings for someone else…Someone who is definitely not available.
This is going to be the worst Christmas break ever…or is it?

As a little bonus, preparing this post for 10 Blind Dates made me really excited that Christmas is now right around the corner and I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favourite lesser-known holiday albums and my favourite songs on each! While I also enjoy the more traditional albums and artists I listen to faithfully every year (Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Vince Guaraldi, Michael Bublé, Mariah Carey, etc) I also love discovering new voices to help me get in the holiday spirit and the five below are just a few of my personal favourites. I hope you’ll enjoy them too, and that they’ll be able to provide the soundtrack to some of your holiday festivities this year!

Mariah Careys Christmas album!
I don’t have a favorite album, but I love Taylor Swift’s Christmases When You Were Mine and Wham’s Last Christmas.
Josh Groban’s Christmas album is LIFE. I listen to it throughout the year. Not just in the season
I don’t have a favorite holiday album, but I do enjoy listening to Christian artists singing traditional carols.
A mix of many! But especially Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, and John Legend
Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson Xmas albums are my favorites!

I don’t think I have a favorite album, but I’ve always liked Taylor Swift’s Christmas album.
“What’s one Christmas or holiday album you absolutely have to listen to every year?” Shakin’ Stevens, “Merry Christmas Everyone.”

This one definetley caught my eye on NetGalley and I love the cover + premise!
As for a Christmas album I listen to, I honestly don’t really like Christmas music/albums but I do like Taylor Swift, so I’d have to say her album
